That is 100% possible. Most wardrobe tape is just really aggressive double-sided tape so it's unlikely it would agree with you.
It's no worse than a band-aid in terms of removal, though.

Dark navy, black, or white would also make this dress so much better (I hadn't considered dark green or red but you're right they would look great too; pink or purple would likely look bad), and ditch whatever that froofy crap on the shoulders is. I'm not a huge fan of an underboob cut in general but I think this dress does a good job with it in the midsection cutout mix. Again not to my tastes but it takes a special body to wear this, and she's got it. I'm never a fan of a long leg cutout like that; I'm not sure what I'd suggest doing with the hem, but the criticisms seem focused on the upper half and I think the worst for there is, in fact, the color.

Yeah I actually like it from about boob level up. From that point down the garment seems just hodge-podgey. Like how the pleats in the front skirt thing just abruptly start right below the converging points of the waist thingy. The lines clash hard there, and it's designed in such a way to draw your eye toward that clash.
Again, though I really like the shoulders, arms, and chest, I think those work. Admittedly I can't judge the color well - never been great with color opinions.

This dress is evil. There is simultaneously too much and too little of it. It is big bird yellow. The embellishments on the shoulders are pure eighties sweater. The criss-cross emphasizes her navel like a flesh bullseye. She is holding on to the dress like it has been just used to parachute on to the red carpet - which would explain her hair and why she lost her shoes and is now standing on tiptoe. The dress is wearing her. It needs to be burned immediately.
